Case Study
Concepts is currently helping the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) formulate and implement the America’s Heroes@Work project—an initiative that focuses on the employment challenges of returning service members living with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Once it is formally launched, the program will equip employers and the workforce system with the tools they need to help returning service members affected by TBI and/or PTSD succeed in the workplace—particularly service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Project activities have included research and collaborative strategy meetings with veterans service organizations, disability advocacy groups, military service branches, workforce development agencies and federal government agencies such as the U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. Concepts has also developed a comprehensive education and outreach strategy for the campaign addressing communications tactics, branding, materials and Web site development, speaking opportunities, specialized outreach campaigns and media relations—all designed to improve employment-related transition outcomes for servicemen and women living with TBI/PTSD. |
