Emily Buell
Emily Buell brings to Concepts extensive experience in grassroots communication and public affairs in the areas of health care and employment. Currently, she puts this unique background to work in support of ePolicyWorks Health Care, an outreach and coalition building initiative to increase access to health care for people with disabilities managed by the U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) Office of Disability Employment Policy.
Before joining Concepts, Emily served as a Special Assistant in the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under the Department’s Secretary. In this capacity, she coordinated various health care initiatives with state and local governments. In addition, Emily helped develop and organize HHS’s health care grassroots efforts, along with various interest groups and industry, to promote the Secretary’s health care initiatives.
Prior to her tenure at HHS, Emily was as a Special Assistant at the U.S. Department of State, where she worked in the Office of White House Liaison and helped to develop personnel policies and recruitment for Schedule C Employees.
Emily got her start in government when she was assigned to work under the Secretary at the U.S. Department of Labor. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and resides in Washington, DC. |
