Greta Menard
Greta Menard is a seasoned communications professional with more than thirteen years of marketing and public relations experience. Throughout her career, her business-to-government, business-to-business, business-to-consumer and government-to-citizen clients have ranged from start-ups, to federal agencies, to large enterprises. Since 2003, Greta has managed a range of public education efforts for the U.S. Department of Labor including the Compliance Assistance Initiative, the Working Partners for an Alcohol and Drug-Free Workplace program, DisabilityInfo.gov and America’s Heroes@Work – a project designed to help returning service members with traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder succeed in the workplace.
Greta also has served a variety of private sector enterprises and associations, including OmniTI and Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA). In 2007, she worked with CADCA and HBO Documentary Films to help launch the ADDICTION campaign – an unprecedented, nationwide community outreach effort that explored advancements in the understanding of drug and alcohol addiction.
Greta launched her P.R. career in the Washington, D.C. office of Ketchum Public Relations, a worldwide, top-ten PR agency. As a vice president and director of the agency’s Public Sector Marketing Group, she managed Ketchum’s IBM Software and PeopleSoft accounts, actively promoting software and homeland security solutions for federal and public sector clients.
Greta earned her M.A. in public communication from American University. In addition, she graduated with honors from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, receiving a B.A. in communication. A graduate of Leadership Arlington’s Class of 2007, Greta is an active member of the Arlington, Virginia community. In addition to leading the Arlington Chamber of Commerce’s Community Action Committee and serving on the Chamber’s Communications Council, she chairs Volunteer Arlington Day, an annual day of service that connects teams of volunteers with hands-on community projects throughout the county. She also serves as a philanthropy coach for the Leadership Arlington Youth Program – a curriculum that builds the leadership skills of area high school students.
