Karen H. Vaughn, President
Karen H. Vaughn, president of Concepts, Inc., founded her unique company in 1996, recognizing a need among federal government agencies and non-profit organizations operating in the D.C. area for expert public relations counsel without the hassles and costs of a large, impersonal firm. Ms. Vaughn takes pride in the reputation Concepts has gained over the years for personalized service that produces visible results. Concepts’ steady track record of success has led to a growing list of clients that includes not only several federal agencies and non-profits, but also an increasing number of private sector firms who value the company’s customer-centered approach to business.
As president, Ms. Vaughn maintains close communication with all clients to ensure their satisfaction during all phases of a project. Her employees and consultant share her dedication to unparalleled professionalism.
In leading the Concepts team, Ms. Vaughn draws upon 18 years of experience in the public relations field. Prior to launching Concepts, she worked at Walcoff & Associates, where she split her time between business development and managing several accounts. Before this, she consulted for the U.S. Marshals Association, conceptualizing and implementing outreach campaigns in targeted communities nationwide.
Ms. Vaughn’s international experience includes consulting for Allpoints International and Tri-World International, where she helped implement small business development initiatives on behalf of clients in Africa, South America and the Caribbean. She also was responsible for marketing efforts in developing countries conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
