Kitty Brims
Kitty Brims brings more than 19 years of experience in the trade association arena to Concepts, Inc., and offers expertise in strategic member communications, policy advocacy and international trade lobbying. As an independent consultant, she specializes in analytical research and Web content development.
Kitty primarily assists with content development on the National Resource Directory (NRD) and Disability.gov. On the NRD, she performs quality assurance services to ensure the website connects Service Members, Veterans and their families to resources that support recovery, rehabilitation and community reintegration. She has also worked on the America's Heroes at Work project, which addresses the employment challenges of returning Service Members living with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Prior to joining Concepts, Kitty served as the corporate communications associate director for the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), one of the nation's largest industry groups. In this position, she represented companies nationwide on public policy issues and wrote executive communications including speeches, letters, articles and customized member reports. She spent 12 years as an international trade lobbyist for NAM, working on several free trade agreements and supporting the U.S. business community at the World Trade Organization Ministerials in Seattle, Washington and Cancun, Mexico.
Kitty earned a M.A. in international commerce and policy from George Mason University and B.A. in English and studio arts from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. She also studied in Paris, and her background includes extensive study and travel overseas as the child of a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. Department of State.
