Rebecca Skipper
Rebecca Skipper adds to the Concepts team 13 years of experience performing strategic communications for governmental, non-profit and educational institutions and has particular expertise in developing the written materials that provide the framework for effective public relations campaigns.
Currently, Ms. Skipper supports several federal government public awareness initiatives, each of which shares a common goal to promote positive change. For the U.S. Department of Labor’s workplace alcohol and drug abuse prevention campaign, she manages Web site content and develops educational materials to help workers and employers understand how to positively and proactively address worker alcohol and drug abuse. She also provides writing and editorial support to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy, which strives to improve employment and job training opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Ms. Skipper also lends her time and skills pro bono to Resolve, a national non-profit organization dedicated to supporting those struggling with infertility.
Prior to joining Concepts, Ms. Skipper spent several years helping American institutions overseas fulfill their unique communications needs. At the American University in Cairo, Egypt, she prepared grant proposals for submission to non-profit organizations and international development agencies and wrote feature articles for the university’s alumni magazine. At Richmond American University in London, she coordinated special events, edited publications and wrote for the university’s newsletter.
Ms. Skipper also served as director of communications for her hometown Chamber of Commerce in Coral Springs, Florida and freelanced for the city’s weekly newspaper. Ms. Skipper earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications. |
