Robert Goldstraw
Robert Goldstraw brings more than 20 years of federal government service and ten years of private sector experience to Concepts, Inc. His areas of expertise include public and intergovernmental affairs activities relating to cross-cutting programs and policies that impact the employment and independence of people with disabilities. Since 2004 Mr. Goldstraw has been the Project Manager for Concepts, Inc.’s work on the federal interagency Web site DisabilityInfo.gov. His responsibilities include guiding ongoing improvements to the content and function of the site, coordinating with DisabilityInfo.gov’s multiple federal agency partners, and planning and implementing public outreach campaigns to the disability community and federal and state government stakeholders.
From 1998-2002 Mr. Goldstraw was a staff member on the former Presidential Task Force on Employment of Adults with Disabilities. In that role he performed both policy and public affairs functions and contributed to the preparation of four annual reports to the president. Since 2002 he has been a consultant on a variety of disability-related policy and communications projects, most recently with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy.
From 1980-1998 Mr. Goldstraw worked for the Social Security Administration as a claims authorizer and congressional inquiries specialist. He later moved to a position as a public affairs specialist in SSA’s Office of Communications, conducting workshops and training, and developing public information materials on SSA’s retirement and disability programs. While serving in this capacity he received the SSA Deputy Commissioner’s Citation for Outstanding Public Service to People Living with HIV/AIDS. Mr. Goldstraw received his B.A. degree in Philosophy from the University of Dayton, and later performed graduate work in Applied Behavioral Science at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. |
